Great lovely flavour , soothed sore throat in hot drink
Flavour, value for money and warmth
Shows how much notice I take sometimes, I was expecting this to be a supplement in tablet form rather than an actual jar of honey, but okay. That said, it's an extremely expensive jar of honey with a strong flavour and from what I can see, somewhat sketchy claims of beneficial properties. It may or not be very beneficial for you, but the flavour's a bit too strong for my liking; watered down in a hot drink with lemon it's fine though, certainly can't see it doing me any harm.
The honey comes presented in a very nice jar, which given it a very premium look and feel, that lives up to the price tag - it's a lot of money for a relatively small jar of honey. This honey only comes out of New Zealand & Australia and is fully MGO certified. It's harvested from "unpolluted pastures" and, if you believe all the spiel, it has magical healing properties. The honey itself is much darker than I expected it to be and also quite gloopy texture to it. The smell is quite strong as well. As I'm not an expert in honeys, I asked my 75-year old brother-in-law to try this, as he swears by it, and give view. He said "taste is very smooth, with a great flavour and very good consistency. I recommend this product". Well I can argue with that! One minor point he mentioned was that the very small print on back of jar was very difficult, almost impossible, to read.I going to award this 4 stars, as I still think it's very expensive, which may partly be due to it's current "en Vogue" status.I hope you found this review interesting, informative and useful. If so, would you kindly hit the "helpful" button. Many thanks.
My personal jury is still out on this one. All honey has anti-bacterial properties. The belief is that Manuka honey is considerably better than all the rest. I have also read that 4,000-year-old honey from an Egyptian tomb was found to be perfectly viable and it wasn't Manuka honey. My feeling is that the extra cost may not be worth it if you are consuming it while it is still fresh from the hive. Find someone who has hives locally and I doubt you could do any better.
